Juneteenth celebrates the end of slavery in the United States and dates back to 1865. In 2021, former President Joe Biden established it as a federal holiday via the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act, according to the United States Capitol Historical Society.

Think Three Media will produce its Fourth Annual Juneteenth Fashion Show on Thursday, June 19. This year’s show follows the theme “We Are One” and plans to spotlight Black designers and creatives through fashion. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. before 6 p.m. showtime at Lexus Box Garden, located at 7800 Windrose Ave.

The evening will also include a local vendor market, interactive moments of reflection and a DJ afterparty. Attendees are encouraged to wear all white in honor of the 160 years that have passed since emancipation. Proceeds will benefit the National Juneteenth Museum.
