The Collaborative Arts of Plano (CAP) is hosting its 2nd annual Celebrate the Arts showcase at the Courtyard Theatre on Saturday, August 19.
The showcase kicks off with an intro from Mayor John Muns at 6:30 p.m., and will feature performances and exhibits by The Plano Symphony, North Texas Performing Arts, Chamberlain Ballet, Plano Metropolitan Ballet, Garage Arts Project, Plano Civic Chorus, Elora Dance Academy, LTP Tap, Plano Art Association, Amy Pagan Art, Plano Community Band, Plano International Festival, Rover Dramawerks, Children’s Chorus of Collin County, Legacy of Harony, Outcry Theatre and Plano Comedy Festival.
“Whether your interest is programming for adults or family, the Celebrate the Arts performance will be a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the best of the arts in Collin County,” says CAP President Sara Egelston Akers.
Following the performances, the ArtCentre of Plano will host a reception at the historic Saigling home with a viewing of the exhibition “Texas Sculpts.”
The Collaborative Arts of Plano was founded six years ago as The Plano Arts Coalition as a nonprofit that aims to establish Plano as a diverse cultural and inclusive arts destination though collaboration, promotion and advocacy.
Tickets to the event are on sale now for $25 online, which includes all performances and the reception. The Courtyard Theatre is located at 1509 Avenue H.
