Cinemark West Plano to Host Hospital Workers

Next Wednesday, Cinemark West Plano will host a special screening of the new release “F9.”  The movie is the ninth installment of the “Fast & Furious” series starting Vin Diesel. What will make this show unique is the fact that all attendees will be frontline hospital workers from Medial City Plano.

The screening is part of an initiative from Universal Pictures to recognize hospital workers from across the country for their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Dallas area is one of 11 U.S. cities chosen to host this event. Other cities include Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta, Milwaukee, Phoenix, Miami, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

“As difficult as this year has been for all Americans, no one has sacrificed more or has saved more lives than our frontline hospital medical professionals,” Universal Pictures President of Domestic Theatrical Distribution Jim Orr said. “F9,” and all the “Fast” Saga films, are about family and we couldn’t think of a better way to honor those in our American family who gave so much of themselves this past year than to invite them to be among the first to see “F9,” on us, and to help us celebrate the return to movie theaters.”
