Medical City Plano and Medical City Frisco have named a new chief medical officer (CMO), Jonathan Clarke.
Clarke is a U.S. Navy and Air Force veteran who recently served as CMO of HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast after a 20 year medical career with positions like regional director of Envision Healthcare.
“Jonathan is an accomplished physician leader, healthcare executive, military veteran and entrepreneur who brings diverse experiences and perspectives to lead our physicians and clinical staff,” says Medical City Plano CEO Ben Coogan. “I look forward to his leadership on our executive team as we continue advancing our dedication to high-quality, safe, patient-centered care.”
Clarke earned his medical degree from the Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami in 2002, followed by additional training in aerospace physiology. After completing the training, Clarke was designate a U.S. Naval flight surgeon and served with the U.S. Marine Corps in Iraq. He later completed a residency in emergency medicine at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth before serving as an emergency physician in Afghanistan.
Clarke is currently board-certified in emergency medicine, a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP) and a recent graduate of Naveen Hindal School of Management’s MBA in Healthcare Management degree.
