Medical City Plano has named Ben Coogan CEO after the current CEO accepted a position as president of HCA Healthcare's West Florida Division.

Medical City Plano named a new CEO this week after current CEO Jyric Sims was promoted to president of HCA Healthcare’s West Florida Division.

The new CEO, Ben Coogan, will begin serving in the position on June 26. He is currently the CEO of Medical City Fort Worth.

“Ben is a collaborative leader dedicated to providing outstanding and compassionate patient-centered care for our community,” says Allen Harrison, president of Medical City Healthcare. “Building on the hospitals’ strong legacies of leadership and world-class care, I am confident he will lead Medical City Plano to the next level of healthcare excellence.”

Coogan began his career at Medical City Plano nearly 20 years ago. He started as a marketing representative before moving up in the Baylor Healthcare System, where he serves as a physician liaison, administrative director of Accelecare Wound Center, practice administrator, and area administrator before returning to Medical City Healthcare where he has served in executive positions in Medical City Dallas, Medical City Children’s Hospital, Medical City Arlington, Medical City Dallas and Medical City Fort Worth.

Medical City Plano is a 603-bed, acute-care hospital and serves as the largest hospital in Collin County. The hospital is located at 3901 W 15th Street.
