Medical City Plano has been named in the top 5% of hospitals across the nation in a recent study done by Healthgrades.

Healthgrades, a healthcare provider database, named Medical City Plano in America’s 250 Best Hospitals for 2023 list, putting the hospital in the top 5% of hospitals nationwide for overall clinical performance.

“This national accolade further exemplifies the unwavering commitment to delivering expert, compassionate care across the many services we offer,” says Jyric Sims, CEO of Medical City Plano. “This dedication to excellence always from our more than 4,000 colleagues and physicians demonstrates why Medical City Plano is the destination of choice for our community.”

Healthgrades evaluated patient mortality and complication rates for 31 of the most common conditions and procedures at almost 4,500 hospitals across the country to identify the top-performing hospitals. According to Healthgrades, there was a significant variation between the hospitals that received the distinction and those who did not, finding that if all hospitals performed similarly to America’s 250 Best, over 160,000 lives could have been saved.

“We’re proud to recognize Medical City Plano as one of America’s 250 Best Hospitals for 2023,” says Brad Bowman, MD, chief medical officer at Healthgrades. “As one of America’s 250 Best Hospitals, Medical City Plano consistently delivers better-than-expected outcomes for the patients in their community and is setting a high national standard for clinical excellence.”
