The expansion aims to offer the privacy of a single-family home while maintaining a sense of community for older adults in the community.

The Legacy Senior Communities, a Jewish-sponsored nonprofit upscale retirement living and in-home care organization, announced a 30-unit independent living expansion of its flagship community The Legacy Willow Bend.

The expansion will introduce three new buildings, which each feature 10 luxury flats and 30 hybrid-style independent living luxury flats.

Aiming to offer the privacy of the single-family home while maintaining a sense of community and security, each residence is designed by HKS Architects & Design with spacious layouts, private garages and pocket parks.

“This expansion marks important growth for our organization and a significant step in enhancing senior living options available in Plano,” said Melissa Orth, president and CEO of The Legacy Senior Communities. “The Legacy’s focus is on creating modern, high-quality senior living that caters to the evolving wants and needs of our senior residents. We look forward to serving more seniors with this expansion.”
The expansion wait list sales are set to begin on Feb. 27, with construction beginning in the first quarter of 2025.
According to Legacy Senior Communities, those on the expansion wait list will be contacted in sequential order for a first look at the final plans. Anticipated move-in dates for new residents are slated for spring 2026.
