Work begins on large senior living community

Construction has begun on an 18.2-acre senior living community near the intersection of West Spring Creek Parkway and Windhaven Parkway on part of the former Haggard Farms property. The gated community will be called The Outlook at Windhaven.  It will feature 153 independent living apartment homes, 30 independent living cottage homes, 32 assisted living apartment homes and 24 memory support suites. The development will also include a clubhouse with dining, fitness and entertainment facilities.

Faith-based nonprofit Forefront Living is developing the community. It is the same group that operates Presbyterian Village North retirement community, Faith Presbyterian Hospice and the T. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care Center. According to CEO Tim Mallad, The Outlook at Windhaven is already more than 70 percent pre-sold. It is scheduled to open sometime in 2024.

“We engaged a stellar group of seasoned and experienced partners to help design and build a senior living community that blends casual elegance with the richness of nature,” Mallad said. “Our team represents the best and the brightest in the senior living industry, and we are proud to bring this community as well as more than 120 new jobs to Plano.”
