Large senior living project planned for former farm site

An 18.2 acre swath of the former Haggard Farms will likely be transformed into a large senior living community.  The Outlook at Windhaven is a planned gated development at the northwest corner of West Spring Creek Parkway and Windhaven Parkway. It will boast 153 independent living apartment homes, 30 independent living cottage homes, 32 assisted living apartment homes and 24 memory support suites. Plans also call for a clubhouse building with dining, fitness, entertainment and other lifestyle amenities.

Forefront Living, a faith-based nonprofit that provides senior living and hospice services, is developing the facility.  They are the organization behind several other Dallas area senior facilities including Presbyterian Village North, Faith Presbyterian Hospice and the T. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care Center. Last year they also broke ground on another independent living facility in North Dallas that will be known as The Hawthorne.

A “priority club” has been established for people who want to be the first to receive detailed information on the development of The Outlook. According to Forefront Living CEO Tim Mallad, more than 600 people have already expressed interest in it.  His organization recently hosted two informational events at Hilton Granite Park for Priority Club Members.

“We have engaged a stellar group of seasoned and experienced partners to develop The Outlook at Windhaven as we build a senior living community that blends casual elegance with the richness of nature,” Mallad said. “Our team represents the best and the brightest in the senior living industry, and we are proud to work together to bring this community and more than 120 new jobs to Plano.”

Construction on The Outlook at Windhaven is scheduled to begin in late 2022.
