The grand opening of mega-development Legacy West kicked off Friday, June 2 with a ribbon cutting by developer Fehmi Karahan, Plano Mayor Harry LaRosiliere and Texas Secretary of State Rolando Pablos. For the entire weekend, Windrose Avenue was closed to vehicles so that visitors could enjoy live entertainment, food and drink samples (from eateries not even open yet) and shopping promotions. Tours of the in-progress Legacy Hall were given, including the areas where Unlawful Assembly Brewing Co. and Haywire will eventually call home. Several retailers opened their doors for the first time this weekend, including Suitsupply, Pockets Menswear, Bonobos, Peter Millar, Coach and Tumi. Restaurants North Italia and Earl’s Kitchen and Bar are set to open this month.
