Legacy West has plenty of events lined up to celebrate the school year, with photo ops, art classes, nature walks and potential prizes.

The Shops at Legacy West is getting ready for the back-to-school season with a lineup of annual Legacy West University events.

To start, first-day photos will be available in front of a colorful locker display in front of Nike and Free People. While photos are complimentary, registration is required and spots are limited. Only one registration per family or group is required. Registration can be done online. Check out the photographer early @emileeprado on Instagram. Photographers will be available for photoshoots from 9-1 a.m. July 28-30, August 5-6 and August 12-13.

Local art teacher Amber Lee is back for the monthly Legacy West Kids Club. On August 6 and 13 from 12-3 p.m., Lee will host back-to-school crafts.

Witty Kids Discovery Walks, hosted by author Rebecca Clark, will bring kids on a morning walk, exploring the outdoors and outdoor careers and using chalk to write ideas. “Her mission is to add, empower and spark creativity when imagination talks to you,” a press release says. The “field trip” will take place August 12 from 10-11 a.m.

For sports fans out there, Legacy Hall is hosting Dallas Mavericks Trivia on August 10 and 15 from 7-9 p.m. All players need is a smart device and a $30 buy-in per team of up to six players. Only one ticket per team is required.

Legacy West also encourages shoppers all August long to visit Bonobos, Darna, Amorino, Mendocino Farms, Lululemon, Urban Value or Free People to learn how you can unlock Legacy West’s blue locker for a chance to win prizes.

And if you’re able to give this back-to-school season, Legacy West is partnering with 58 local teachers to help clear their teacher wish lists for the upcoming school year. Teachers from school districts all over the metroplex are participating, with Rita Cordero and Cassidy Degrate, teachers at Pearson Early Childhood School and Thomas Elementary respectively, having posted lists. School supply lists are available online.
