1. Go for the Goal at the Summer Kickoff Party (All Ages)

Get ready for a summer full of reading, prizes and fun! Plano Public Library’s Summer Kickoff Parties are your chance to sign up for Summer Reading while enjoying games, activities and family-friendly fun. Stop by any location on May 30 to celebrate and start your summer strong, because the best way to reach your reading goals is to kick things off together.

2. Explore the Sun and Beyond (Families)

Blast off into space with solar-themed programs that bring science to life! From safely viewing the Sun through solar telescopes to learning how missions like the Cosmic Background Explorer (COBE) help us understand the universe, these programs offer hands-on ways to explore the science behind our solar system and beyond.

3. Memory Keeping with Therapy Dogs (Older Adults)

Connect, reflect and share meaningful moments in a welcoming, supportive environment. This unique program pairs guided memory prompts with time spent alongside a trained therapy dog, creating a calming space for those experiencing early-stage dementia and their caregivers. May’s theme, Friends & Pets, offers a gentle way to spark conversation and connection.

4. Play in a Nature Nook (Ages 18-36 months)

Bring a little bit of the outdoors inside with this nature-inspired program for toddlers! Nature Nook invites little ones to explore through movement, sensory play and early learning activities designed to spark curiosity and connection with the natural world.
