In a recent study by StorageCafe, Plano ranked third in the nation for the best place for newlyweds to settle down and start their lives.
StorageCafe analyzed the largest U.S. cities and compared them across 15 metrics, including career opportunity, housing options, percentage of millennial married couples, divorce rates, leisure activities and restaurant options.
The study found that close to 60 percent of Plano neighbors are married.
“People in the age range when they are most likely to marry earn close to $100K, making living here comfortable,” the study said. “Getting romantic is easy in Plano, with the city having a high number of restaurants, amusement and reaction venues per 1,000 residents. Plano is well-equipped to respond to the needs of young couples who are fans of the outdoors with about 3.4 miles of improved trails and four tennis courts per 10K residents.”
Plano is followed by fellow North Texas city Irving at #12, with a third of the residents aged 25-44. The study comes a year after StorageCafe conducted a study about the best cities for families with children, where Plano ranked #1 in the country for its playgrounds, parks, pools, home prices and healthcare centers.
