Plano Parks & Recreation to host Information and Wellness Fair next week

More than 50 vendors will be on site providing free information and services on topics like senior living options, insurance and more.

Every May, the Administration for Community Living (ACL) begins the observance of Older Americans Month (OAM), aiming to “recognize older Americans’ contributions, highlight aging trends and reaffirm commitments to serving the older adults” in local communities. Plano Parks & Recreation is hosting the 21st annual Senior Information & Wellness Fair on Wednesday, May 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“This unique event provides a wealth of information for those of retirement and pre-retirement age to enhance their ability to plan for future years. Visitors can receive free health screenings, hand and chair massages and take home information about a multitude of services available in the area,” the City of Plano said in a news release. “This fun and informative event (complete with door prizes and food trucks) is free and open to everyone.”

More than 50 vendors will be on site providing free information and services regarding a variety of important topics like senior living options, financial planning, funeral pre-planning and insurance.

The Senior Information & Wellness Fair on Wednesday, May 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. will take place at Sam Johnson Recreation Center, located at 401 West 16th Street.
