Plano to host Beatles Night

Beatlemania returns to Plano at 7 p.m. Oct. 9 with Beatles Night at Red Tail Pavilion in Oak Point Park (formerly the Amphitheater at Oak Point Park)

The date was chosen to mark John Lennon’s birthday. He would have turned 81 this year.

Local Beatles tribute band A Hard Night’s Day will headline the show.  The band has played the Cavern Club in Liverpool, the Kaiserkeller in Hamburg, and recorded at Abbey Road Studios in Studio 2.  During their performance, they will pull from a catalog of more than 200 songs to provide an authentic Beatles-like experience.

Before they take the stage, Monkees tribute band Randy Scouse Gits will perform as the opening act.

Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets and coolers, but must leave the pets at home. The event is BYOB. Burgers, fries and sodas will also be for sale.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $10 for children. Gates open at 6 p.m. The show is slated to start at 7 p.m. and end around 10:30 p.m.
