Plano Public Library celebrates 60 years with art events, exhibition

The art exhibition will feature local artists, including you. There are still three opportunities to participate in featured art programs.

As Plano Public Library continues their 60th anniversary celebration, April is set to host the Library Art Experience.

The experience opens at Haggard Library on April 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. The exhibit will continue to be available for viewing April 18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and April 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Until then, community members still have a few opportunities to create art to showcase at the event:

Plano Pointillism – Schmelpfinig Library

On Sunday, March 23 from 2 to 3 p.m., the Schmelpfinig Library is hosting a pointillism class where participants create their own City of Plano symbols and iconic sites. Tickets are required and are available in-person 30 minutes prior to the program.

Personality Portraits – Davis Library

Sunday, March 30 from 2 to 3 p.m., the Davis Library is hosting a class for participants to create a self-portrait handprints that showcase various backgrounds and experiences. The experience is come-and-go, so no tickets are required.

Collage Birthday Cake – Haggard Library
