Rover Dramawerks opens auditions for Go Back For Murder

Rover Dramawerks announces auditions for Agatha Christie’s Go Back for Murder directed by Kathleen Vaught. Auditions will be held at Reclamation Church on July 27 and July 28 from 2-4 p.m. If needed, callbacks will be on July 28 from 7-9 p.m.

Appointments are required to audition. Those interested can sign up with their full name and preferred audition time on Signup Genius.

After signing up, access to the script will be made available. Rover Dramawerks requests auditioners be familiar with the play before auditioning, requiring actors to be prepared to act out scenes from the script, bring a headshot and resume and note rehearsal conflicts at the audition. References may be required.

Rehearsals will start in Plano on or around August 20. This is subject to change based on conflicts from the cast, Rover Dramawerks said in a press release. Go Back for Murder will run for twelve performances October 3-19 on Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Cox Playhouse.

The show requires five men, four women and one of either for the cast. Several characters will likely be double-cast with other roles. All roles are available.

Go Back for Murder tells the tale of Carla Crale who believes her mother, who died in prison, was wrongly convicted of her father’s murder after receiving a letter from beyond the grave. She convinces witnesses of her father’s death to return to the scene of the crime to retell their version of events fifteen years later in an attempt to clear her mother’s name.

Auditions are located at Reclamation Church on 901 Cross Bend Rd. in Plano, at the northwest corner of Alma and Cross Bend. Performances at the Cox Playhouse are on 1517 H Avenue in historic Downtown Plano.
