Terra Mediterranean recently opened a location at the newest dining hotspot in Plano, The District at The Shops at Willow Bend. The District is just one part of The Shops’ recent $125 million renovation.
Terra founders Adam Shanaa and Jalal Chanaa started their culinary journey with the opening of the first Ali Baba Mediterranean Grill in Dallas in the early 1990s. The restaurant chain has since become an iconic destination for those seeking fresh, healthy Mediterranean cuisine. Terra Mediterranean is a newer, more upscale concept from the brothers, with two other locations in Fort Worth and Irving.
Terra’s menu continues Ali Baba’s tradition of offering freshly prepared dishes inspired by Greek and Lebanese cuisine, such as kafta kabobs and grilled sea bass. But where this restaurant really shines is its outstanding lunch buffet. Priced at $16 on weekdays and $18 on weekends (with reduced pricing for children) the buffet is packed with healthy dishes served hot from the pan or grill and rotated out several times in an hour so that everything stays fresh. The plentiful lunch buffet includes favorites like saffron chicken, falafel, fresh salads, gyros, vegetarian dishes and of course, plenty of hummus and pita bread.
Guests can come in and be served quickly during lunch time. It’s also a great way to get a preview of many of Terra’s dinner entrees.

The Willow Bend location is roughly 6,200 square feet and features two patios, upstairs and down. The decor is light and bright and modern. The upstairs bar and patio that overlooks The District has a cool Moroccan, lounge-y vibe and is an ideal place for relaxing with friends over cocktails. The upstairs patio is currently only available for rent for private parties, but will be open to the public in the near future.
