Texas Forever Fest is back with live music from Casey Donahew and a calf-roping, corndog-eating, Texas-themed party.

With the introduction of H-E-B in Plano comes even bigger Texas-themed everything, and Texas Forever Fest is about just that.

Texas country and Americana are on the lineup all day, with Casey Donahew taking the main stage at 5 p.m.

In true Texas fashion, the festival will also feature line-dancing lessons, mechanical bull rides, calf-roping, quick-shoot cowboys, entertainment from a trick roper and more Texas-sized entertainment.

Festival-goers can also shop for Texas-inspired items from local vendors or at The Children’s Entrepreneur Market, which allows youth to set up and sell items they’ve made.

Festival foodies will be able to choose from Fletcher’s Corny Dogs, Plano’s own Ye Ole Butcher Shop, food truck, and a Spirits of Texas Tasting hosted by Texas Whiskey Festival. Tastings will require an advanced ticket, and beer will be sold at a cash bar.

This year’s festival, sponsored by H-E-B and organized by Plano Arts & Events, will take place at Haggard Park from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The festival is open to the whole family and is free.
