- Grab a Summer Read at the Bag of Books Sale (all ages)
The Plano Public Library is hosting another Bag of Books Sale at Davis Library from Saturday, June 14 to Sunday, June 22, offering thousands of gently used books for all ages. From beloved classics to contemporary bestsellers, there’s something for everyone.
For just $10 a bag, you can fill up on as many books as you can fit. Sales are open daily during library hours, with the last bag sold 30 minutes before closing. This is a perfect opportunity to discover hidden literary gems while supporting your local library system.
All proceeds go to the Friends of the Plano Public Library, benefiting all five library branches in Plano. Your purchase helps fund essential programs, services, and resources that keep our libraries thriving.

- Jumpstart Your Coding Journey (grades K-5)
Plano Public Library is partnering with Texas A&M Engineering’s Spark! Engineering Education Outreach Program to present a series of hands-on coding and robotics programs. Designed for grades K-5, these programs offer an exciting introduction to computer science while encouraging creative problem-solving and critical thinking.
Intro to Coding with Vex123 (Grades K-2):
Little coders can dive into the basics of computer science by programming a robot using touch-sensitive buttons, physical coding cards, or the VEX Coder. This engaging session makes coding fun and accessible for even the youngest learners.
Intro to Robotics with Ozobots (Grades 3-5):
Students can explore the foundations of programming as they guide pint-sized robots along colorful paths.
Block Coding with Ozobots (Grades 3-5):
Take your coding skills to the next level by learning block coding with Ozobots. Program these tiny robots to complete interactive challenges and master the basics of robotics in a fun, hands-on setting.
Space is limited, so plan to arrive early to secure your spot in these. Whether your child is just beginning their coding journey or looking to level up, these programs are a perfect introduction to the world of technology and robotics.

It’s My Job for Teens (Ages 16-18)
Presented by Junior Achievement, this three-part series is perfect for teens ready to step into the workforce with confidence. Participants will learn how to prepare for job success, master workplace skills, and sharpen their communication techniques.

Participants will use salvaged leather and paint pens to create a one-of-a-kind bookmark that’s both functional and artistic.
