From preschool to professional, Plano Public Library (PPL) has something for everyone. Check out some of their upcoming events – in-person and virtual – for all your educating and entertaining needs:

  1. Boost your networking skills (ages 18+)

The Job Resources Connection meets bi-weekly and is a skill-building workshop for job seekers, led by professionals and library staff. This is a great opportunity to network, learn new skills and find support during your job search. JRC meets at Harrington Library on Mondays from 6:30-8pm. August meetings:

  • August 26: Networking check-in; share about your job search journey

  1. Make your home safe (ages 18+)

Texas Health Plano is presenting about Preventing Falls in our next Living Well virtual workshop. You will learn about steps you can take to make your home and surroundings safer and prevent having a fall. Living Well: Preventing Falls meets on Zoom on Tuesday, August 13 at 11am, register here.   1. Get your yard Texas-tough (ages 18+)

The City of Plano’s Sustainability and Environmental Education Division is back again to talk about your yard! Is your yard thirsty for an update? Go through the seven simple steps it takes to get your landscape refreshed in our climate. Water Wise Gardening meets on Thursday, August 15 at 6:30pm at Parr Library.

  1. Make a magical creature (ages 13+)

Blender is a free and open-source 3D computer graphics software, used to create animated films, visual effects, 3D-printed models, motion graphics and more. Attend the Blender: Basics workshop on Saturday, August 24 at 3pm at Haggard Library to learn the basics of 3D modeling by creating a magical creature. Space is limited, get your free ticket 30 minutes before the program begins.

  1. Manage your budget and cash (ages 16+)

Bank of America returns with their Personal Finance: Cash Flow workshop on Thursday, August 29 at 6:30pm. Your budget is good so why does it seem like having enough cash available to pay necessary expenses on time is such a challenge? Learn about cash flow principles to help.

This is a hybrid class, meeting in-person at Davis Library and virtually via Zoom. If you want to attend online, register here

If you do not already have a Plano Public Library card, be sure to register online here. All Plano Public Library locations are open to use computers, browse the collection, and attend in-person programs. Porch side pickup for holds is available, and you can always access eLibrary content online.
