When Elisha Burns became a mother to her first daughter, she noticed a gap in the clothing market – a lack of brands that supported her earth-friendly lifestyle. Instead of settling on the available goods at hand, Elisha decided to use her passion for environmentally conscious living to create a brand that other families could love, too. Thus, Trio Trendy Threads was born.

Her nature-inspired, vegan business offers screen printed tees for women and children of all ages, as well as eco-friendly shorties, bows, shoes and stockings. Elisha creates the highest quality tees that are not only safe for little ones but also safe for the planet.

“You can wear our brand knowing you are not only supporting a small business, but you are also supporting the animals, the planet and ethical work practices for people,” said Elisha. “We donate five percent of our profits to animal sanctuaries and shelters so you can wear our brand proudly knowing you have helped an animal out there in need.”

With such passion and purpose behind her brand, Elisha wanted to broaden her audience and share her mission with others. As a stay-at-home mom, Elisha had run her business solely from her home for the past several years but knew it was time to expand. When the opportunity presented itself, she took a leap of faith.

Despite initial intimidation, Elisha applied for the Battle of the Pop-Ups contest at The Shops at Willow Bend and won the competition. “As they say, you can’t grow if you stay in your comfort zone,” she admitted.

As the Battle of the Pop-Ups winner, Elisha has received four free months of rent for Trio Trendy Threads inside The Shops at Willow Bend. Additionally, she received a $500 marketing package, free utilities and free use of existing mall or store fixtures.

“I am over the moon to be given this wonderful opportunity,” said Elisha. “This is definitely going to be a great adventure, and I can’t wait for Plano to meet our brand in-person!”

The Trio Trendy Threads Pop-Up opened in the Plano shopping center on July 1. Elisha hopes her brand will inspire others to become more eco-conscious and to see how little changes in our daily lives can make big impacts overall.
