U.S. Navy Blue Angels to Fly Over Plano May 6

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels have announced via social media that the demonstration squadron will fly over North Texas May 6 in honor of healthcare professionals, first responders and essential workers. The flight path published on Twitter shows a start in McKinney at 11 a.m., passing through Plano before 11:15 a.m. and continuing on to Dallas and Fort Worth. Times are approximate.

According to the Blue Angels website, the team consists of 130 active-duty Sailors and Marines, “each one bringing experience and expertise from their service in the Navy and Marine Corps fleets.” The mission of the Blue Angels is to showcase the pride and professionalism of the United States Navy and Marine Corps by inspiring a culture of excellence and service to country through flight demonstrations and community outreach.

Residents are encouraged to observe from their homes and to refrain from traveling to see the flyover. The team will continue on to fly over Houston and New Orleans Wednesday.
