This fall, a new Euro-Mediterranean market, eatery and bar is coming to Legacy West. It’s called Darna, meaning “our house” in Arabic, and it intends to bring North Texans on a cross-cultural culinary journey.
The market will feature specialty olive oils, Moroccan spices, dried fruit, European cheeses and meats, and much more. Customers will also find ready-to-eat meals, a salad and sandwich station, as well as a Turkish coffee bar and full-service alcohol bar there.
“Yela Concepts Founder Yaser Khalaf has been a revolutionary force in the restaurant industry for more than a quarter-century. To Yaser, food is more than what you taste, it’s an immersive experience defined by texture, aroma, and visual art. And that’s exactly what you can expect at Darna,” shared Yela Concepts President and CEO Pat Garza.
Darna is designed to bring the experience of an authentic Mediterranean market to Plano. In addition to the colorful food, the store will be designed in an array of colors, patterns, smells and sounds.
Guests can dine inside or sit on the large patio, then take care of their grocery shopping. Some offerings at the café will include Spanish meat boards, French pastries, Italian and Turkish flatbreads, Greek souvlaki, Moroccan tagines and Lebanese mezze.
“Inspired by Yaser’s heritage and years of research, Darna is a one-of-a-kind concept that will deliver a fun, authentic, approachable experience unlike any other in North Texas. We can’t wait to open Darna this fall. Welcome to our house!” Pat said.
The 6,200-square-foot store will be located at 7700 Windrose Ave Suite G170 in the former location of Barnes & Noble Kitchen.
