Four free kid-friendly activities to try this summer in Plano

Looking for some way to entertain the family and escape the heat this summer? Plano is full of family-friendly activities.
The Box Garden at Legacy Hall is hosting free movie nights every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. through July. Seating is first-come, first-served.
The lineup will include Legally Blonde next week, followed by Spiderman: No Way Home, How to Lose A Guy In 10 Days, Godzilla vs. Kong, and Footloose in the coming weeks.
While the movies are free, guests can purchase the “Movie Lover’s Package for 2,” which includes a $20 hall pass for dinner and drinks, a $20 Vinotopia wine gift card, and a large popcorn for $45.
For the younger ones, Plano has a free splashpad at Windhaven Meadows Park, which also has an all-accessible playground, dog park, trails and open spaces.
Indoors, the Interurban Railway Museum is also free, with weekly story time for preschoolers on Fridays at 10:30 and regular tours of Railway Post Office Car #360.
Last, the Plano Public Library has free events every day of the week, including story times for kids of all ages.
