The 2025 Xfinity U.S. Championships took place this weekend in New Orleans, where athletes from World Olympic Gymnastics Academy (WOGA), based in Frisco and Plano and headed by Valeri Liukin and Yevgeny Marchenko, took home several medals.
Hezly Rivera won the Senior All-Around category, followed by WOGA’s Claire Pease at #10 in the same category. In the Junior All-Around category, Isabella Anzola took second.
Both Pease and Rivera are on the women’s national team, along with Skye Blakely, a former WOGA gymnast who competes for the University of Florida. She placed 21st overall but brought home a gold in uneven bars (shared with Rivera) and silver in balance beam.
In the men’s competition, Plano’s Asher Hong took home first. Hong is also a member of this year’s men’s national team.
While the Senior Women’s World Championships Team, set to compete in Indonesia from Oct. 19 to 25, has not yet been announced, Asher Hong is set to compete. According to USA Gymnastics, the women’s team will be selected at the World Championships Selection Camp beginning Sept. 29 in Tennessee.
