New BBQ restaurant to open this weekend at The Boardwalk at Granite Park

The Kickback BBQ Cantina has a create-your-own concept that includes barbecue basics with a Tex-Mex twist.

The Boardwalk at Granite Park is celebrating a grand opening of their new restaurant concept, The Kickback BBQ Cantina, on October 25.

The Kickback is a barbecue joint with a “pick your protein, pick your style, pick your vehicle” menu concept.

The menu includes proteins like Texas-style chopped brisket, smoked pork shoulder or grilled skirt steak; “vehicles” like a Martin’s Sandwich Roll, flour/corn tortillas or a mixed bowl of greens; and “styles” like Cuban, which includes sweet plantains, crispy onions, raisin olive relish and QueBano mayo or Hill Country, which includes cole slaw, raw onion, pickles, fresh jalapeno, mole barbecue sauce and cheddar cheese.

Aside from the main, customizable entrees, The Kickback also serves beer-battered fried ribs, rattlesnake tails, chips and salsa or queso, waffle fries with Mojo Mayo and cole slaw. For dessert, there’s a Dr. Pepper cake. A full bar with plenty of themed drinks is also available.

The grand opening celebration, starting at 7 p.m., is set to include live music from musicians Will and Crystal Yates during The Boardwalk’s Friday Night Market, drink specials and free dessert.

The Kickback is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. Friday and Saturday. The restaurant is located at 5880 State Highway 121, Suite 103.1.
