Bottle and Bottega Holds Operation Kindness Fundraisers

“It was hard to say goodbye when she crossed over the rainbow bridge, but she lived a great life and we have many fond memories of her,” Twylla Bell recalled of her family’s beloved Dachshund mix, Lucky. Twylla adopted Lucky years ago from Operation Kindness, a North Texas no-kill animal shelter, so it was an obvious choice as benefactor of the fundraising events she hosts at her local business, Bottle and Bottega Plano.

Since November 2015, Twylla has hosted 10 events to raise funds for Operation Kindness, with the most recent one on Sunday, Aug. 27. Altogether, she has raised $6,900 for the center.

The fundraising events Twylla hosts are Paint Your Pet workshops, and boy, are they popular. The recent one sold out in roughly 24 hours. The workshops are popular because guests need no artistic skills, supplies and step-by-step instructions are provided and everyone leaves with their favorite family member immortalized on canvas.

Other local businesses have pitched in to support Twylla’s efforts, as well. For this most recent event, City Vet in Plano donated five bags of Blue Buffalo cat and dog food for a silent auction, as well as a gift certificate to cover the cost of a pet’s annual exam. SusieCakes donated paw print cupcakes for all 52 guests to enjoy during the event.

In addition to showing her love for the furriest members of our families, Twylla also hosts team building events at Bottle and Bottega, such as customized mural painting. Check the website for public painting workshops, or book your own private party.

The next Paint Your Pet fundraiser event is on Sept. 24 from 2:00 – 4:30pm.
