Collin College to host Bonny Leibowitz exhibition

Beginning Wednesday, The Art Gallery at Collin College will host an exhibition of work by Bonny Leibowitz.  “Behind the Seen” will run from Sept. 28 through Oct. 26.

A reception in the gallery is scheduled for 3 to 6 p.m. on Sept. 29.  An Art Café discussion and learning experience is also slated for 1 to 1:45 p.m. on Oct. 20.

Leibowitz produces objects, installations, and paintings utilizing a multitude of materials in ways that often disguise their origin, blurring the boundaries between the manufactured and the natural.

“My work is based in self-reflection, observing and breaking down multifaceted, long-held beliefs related to perceptions of separateness and connectedness,” she says.

The art gallery is located on Collin College’s Plano Campus, Room A175, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-8 p.m., Monday-Thursday and 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Friday and Saturday.

The exhibition and events are free and open to the public.
