Community for Permanent Supported Housing (CPSH) will transfer its operations, knowledge, assets and ongoing projects to REACH, Inc.

After 14 years of work, Richardson-based Community for Permanent Supported Housing (CPSH) will transfer its operations, knowledge, assets and ongoing projects to REACH, Inc. The shift will occur on Sunday, June 30.

CPSH has assisted over 500 people with disabilities in finding their own homes and support services. They have also helped more than 3,200 families acquire resources to enhance the lives of their children with disabilities, according to a news release. REACH, Inc. is a nonprofit with offices in Fort Worth, Dallas, Denton and Plano dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities to live independently. They will continue the work of CPSH.

“Our decision to transfer our intellectual property and assets to REACH, Inc. aligns with our long-term vision and mission: enabling more individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live inclusively in North Central Texas.” CPSH Founder and President Robin LeoGrande said. “We are confident that REACH, Inc. will honor our legacy and expand independent living services, helping more people with disabilities achieve greater independence and integration. We encourage everyone to contact REACH, Inc. and learn more about the expanded services for people with disabilities, including Finding Independence resources and training.”

As the population of North Texas expands, people with disabilities are living longer and choosing to live more independently. This calls for more inclusive housing that can support their needs. The two nonprofits are coming together to ensure continued access to services for people with disabilities.

“We are thrilled to be able to partner with CPSH to ensure that the legacy of their work continues to be a resource for individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, their families, and the community,” said Jenny Stonemeier, executive director of REACH, Inc. “The mission of CPSH is perfectly aligned with ours and fully supports our work as a Center for Independent Living serving the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.  We look forward to helping all people with disabilities and their families.”

REACH of Plano is located at 720 E. Park Blvd Suite 104. The location offers services like peer counseling, skills training, advocacy assistance and loaner equipment.
