Dave’s Hot Chicken announced that the grand opening of that its latest location at 8315 Preston Road will happen this Friday. The milestone is another step in the company’s rapid expansion across the country. The first North Texas outpost opened in May on a Dallas section of Preston Road.
As the name would suggest, hot chicken is the primary menu item at all Dave’s locations. It is served as chicken tenders or in slider sandwiches. Side items include fries, mac & cheese and kale slaw.
The company was started by four friends in 2017 who set up a small hot chicken stand in an East Hollywood parking lot. Since then, it has expanded to other parts of California as well as the Toronto, Chicago and Denver, Portland and Las Vegas metro areas. A Dearborn, Michigan location will soon open as well.
In Dec. 2020, Dave’s officials announced plans to open 26 stores across the Houston and College Station markets. That was followed by a July announcement that the restaurant would open 10 additional locations along the Interstate 35 corridor including Austin, New Braunfels, San Marcos and Waco. According to the company’s website, a new restaurant in Fort Worth’s Cityview area will also be opening soon.
