Recently Plano city council approved more than five million dollars, funded by the 2017 voter-approved bond referendum, to be allocated to renovating Davis Library. The library is located at 7501B Independence Parkway in Plano.

In an effort to create more study rooms, meeting rooms, collaborative spaces and a new children’s program room for the community to use, the library will be expanded into the newly vacated Joint Use Facility just across the breezeway.

Construction is slated to begin in April.

During construction the library will still be open to the community. The services available will be pick-up on holds (self-service and curbside), new materials for all ages, STEAM kits for all ages, children’s materials, young adult materials, DVDs, limited computers and printing, 3D printing and friendly staff to help.

If you find the construction to be inconvenient, other Plano libraries nearby include Schimelpfenig (2.7 miles away), Haggard (4.5 miles away), Parr (6.5 miles away) and Harrington (7 miles away).

Construction is supposed to be complete by late spring 2022.
