Luxury fashion retailer Gucci announced that its new Legacy West outpost will open at 11 a.m. Friday, April 16. The 5,000-square-foot store will feature men’s and women’s shoes, handbags, luggage, small leather goods, accessories, silks, jewelry and eyewear.

“We’re thrilled for Gucci’s arrival at our property,” managing member of Open Realty Advisors and equity investor in Legacy West Mark Masinter said. “The new store will be an exciting addition for Legacy West as we continually aim to provide a best-in-class experience for customers through an expanded choice of offerings.”

It should come as no surprise that the Plano Gucci store was designed to project luxury throughout. Company officials say that they wanted an inviting look that made customers feel welcomed and relaxed. Their goal was to suggest “contemporary luxury” by using beautiful materials and a determined spare use of space. Unique architectural and design touches include a marble feature on the store façade, industrial elements including rivets inside and a collection of velvet armchairs.

While those over-the-top features will no doubt be interesting to see, many local shoppers are much more excited about having a closer place to get their Gucci fix. Currently, the retailer’s closest shops are at Galleria Dallas and NorthPark Center. Also among the company’s more than 480 retail outlets are stores in San Marcos and the Houston Galleria.

Legacy West has several more grand openings on the horizon for 2021. Tiffany & Co, Louis Vuitton and Tory Burch are all scheduled to open in the new construction across from Legacy Hall later this spring. Nike, Free People and Chanel Beauty have also announced plans to open stores on Windrose Avenue this year.
