Plano Chamber interns launch Adventures of an Intern blog

Two Plano Mayors Summer Internship Program participants have started a blog for the summer discussing their takeaways from various Chamber of Commerce events.

The blog, called Adventures of an Intern, follows Katherine Han and Nathan Gong, rising seniors at Plano West and Plano East respectively. The pair first posted on July 20 after the inaugural 2022 DEI Summit.

The summit on diversity, equity and inclusion featured several speakers from the education field.

“One thing that stood out for me is that the average Texan is now a younger, Hispanic girl,” Gong said in the post. “America is rapidly changing in its demographic, and it’s time the workforce takes this into account.”

Han was more inspired by Byron Sander’s, CEO of Big Thought, presentation on the education system and fostering creativity in kids.

“As a student, and furthermore, as an artist, I was fully drawn to his speech,” she wrote. “In the workforce, it is a large creative capacity that enables an employee to excel above the average.”

Katherine has also posted about her participation in the Women’s Division luncheon, and more posts are presumably to come.

Adventures of an Intern joins several other Plano Chamber of Commerce blogs, including Leaders Among Us, Member Spotlight, and Work With Me. The blogs can be found on the Chamber website under Chamber Buzz.
