Just hear those sleigh bells jingling and credit cards ring-tingle tingling too; come on!
It’s time for the Junior League of Collin County’s 28th annual ’Neath the Wreath holiday market and gift fair Thursday through Sunday, November 9-12 at the Marriott Dallas Allen Hotel and Convention Center. In addition, the yearly Ladies’ Night Preview Party and raffle is scheduled Nov. 8 for participants to get a jump on one-of-a kind bargains and festive merch.
League president Renee Gately says ’Neath the Wreath will host 125 vendors offering jewelry; men’s, women’s and children’s clothing; toys; holiday and home décor; food and gourmet selections, and more.
“’Neath the Wreath is for merchants, too. For many small business owners, this is a main money-maker. We want them to get lots out of it too,” Gately says.
New this year is the debut of DJ PJ Polar Express Party, where tots ages 1-12 can belly up for a hot chocolate bar, cookies, pizza and punch. They’ll hear an excerpt from The Polar Express read by Kellie Rasberry, co-host of The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show, followed by a DJ-hosted dance party. As per the event theme, revelers are invited to wear PJs and be comfy. For an extra fee, youngsters can receive a holiday ornament craft and photos with Santa. Parents are required to attend with their children.

Organizers expect in the neighborhood of 10,000 shoppers this year. ’Neath the Wreath over the years has helped the Junior League of Collin County raise more than $4.7 million for distribution to educational and charitable community initiatives, such as Children’s Health Plano, Collin County Juvenile Probation Program, City House and Community Garden Kitchen.
’Neath the Wreath Chair Bess Grant says the event theme this year is Once Upon a Time at ’Neath the Wreath. “This year’s theme was inspired by my mother, who was a teacher of the humanities and a fellow Junior Leaguer. Once Upon a Time at ‘Neath the Wreath is about enjoying the magic and warmth of the holiday season. We’re so excited for all shoppers to come by and experience what we have in store!”
The event also includes a book drive supporting the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County, founded by the league 30 years ago. Collection boxes will be located throughout the event for book donations.
“The Junior League of Collin County looks at each donation it receives, and we magnify it,” Gately says. “We look at community needs and give back; it’s important for supporters to know their money goes to where it should and that it stays local.”
