Legacy Hall to host Mexican Independence Day celebration

The sounds of Selena will serenade Legacy Hall this Wednesday in recognition of Diez y Seis de Septiembre.  That’s Mexican Independence Day for those not versed in Español. The annual holiday recognizes the start Mexico’s war of independence from Spain.  Festivities south of the border often include fireworks, massive street parties and parades.

At Legacy Hall, Austin-based band Bidi Bidi Banda will take the Box Garden stage.  The all-star Selena tribune band’s set will include many of the late singer’s most popular hits. Doors open at 6.pm Sept. 16.  The concert is slated to begin at 7 p.m.

Chilangos Toas will be selling authentic street tacos as well as ice-cold Dos XX.

Tickets required to enter the Box Garden may be purchased online. VIP packages that include dedicated cocktail service, soft seating and primo stage views are also available.
