Legacy Hall’s Box Garden to host Juneteenth Fashion Show

Think Three Media will be presenting a Juneteenth Fashion Show celebrating Black excellence, culture and freedom in the Box Garden at Legacy Hall this year.

Juneteenth is a holiday celebrated on June 19 to commemorate when Union troops arrived in Galveston to announce that enslaved Black people were free by executive decree. It became an official state holiday in 1980 and a federal holiday last year.

The fashion show will be emceed by Venny Etienne, award-winning designer and Project Runway Season 17 “Top 7” contestant. Designers Ese Azenabor, Don Morphy and other local and national designers will be featured in the show, along with designs from House of Dasha Boutique, Energy Check, PWR WMN, AND-MADE, One Street Sales, Indigo 1745 and Creteation.

An afterparty will kick off at 7 p.m. following the fashion show. The party kicks off with five-time Grammy Award winner WRLDFMS Tony Williams, who will perform live in the Box Garden.

General Admission tickets are $18 for first-come, first-served seating. Tables can also be purchased that include a reserved table, Juneteenth cocktails and $12 Hall Passes for $150 for four people or $225 for six. VIP Balcony tables can also be purchased for $300 for six people or $350 for eight people.
