Favorite Local Businesses

We asked our readers to name their favorite locally owned business in Plano. Downtown Plano seemed to be a favorite among readers. Multiple readers named Lockhart, The Fillmore Pub, Jorg’s Cafe Vienna, Urban Crust and Dub’s Tea and Water (yeah, we know Dub’s isn’t in downtown.) Is your favorite on the list? Artin’s in the Shops at Legacy: Great food, friendly professional staff. – Karl S.

Dub’s Tea & Water: Read about it in your newsletter, now I’m a regular. Dub & his wife are awesome and I love all their fantastic teas. Felt like home the first time I walked in, now it feels like visiting old friends. – Trish F

The Yoga Factory: I love the people. Everyone is like family and super welcoming. They also have frequent get-togethers to get everyone together to do yoga AND have drinks, dance, watch stand up, etc. – Angela R

Little Gus’s Cafe has the most wonderful breakfasts – soooo much food. The skillet potatoes just melt in your mouth with the right amount of crunch. The staff (including Gus, who seems to be there every morning) is so nice and the food comes out quick and hot. The atmosphere is diner-like and very homey. There’s also a nice patio area when the weather is nice. We love this place!! – Bonnie E

Hands down, Vickery Park. It is my go to place for delicious food and a pint. The staff is always on point and you’ll always find a friend inside, old and new. – Guadalupe P

Hirsch’s Meat Market always has knowledgeable staff and wonderful meats and my meals turn out better because of that. – Kathryn L

I love Jorg’s Cafe Vienna on 15th Street. The atmosphere is very friendly and laid back. Plus, the food is amazing! – Kelly H

Destination Dallas: Great place to lift weights. A lot of like minded individuals that don’t want frilly boutiques or kids running around getting under your feet. – Jason S

Zorba’s Greek Cafe: I love almost everything I’ve eaten there… and I’ve eaten a lot! They have a great variety of meats and traditional dishes that will make me blow my low carb diet every time. I also love that it’s BYOB! – Melanie M

I really like Fish Shack on 15th because the food is the bomb, and also Dude, Sweet Chocolate, Lockhart, and The Fillmore Pub for the same reason. What can I say, I’m a foodie! – Kasey M

Matador Meat (butcher on Preston): Matador not only has a great product, but the best service! Matt and Colleen couldn’t be more accommodating or knowledgable. They also offer many hidden gems, such as event hosting, catering, wine, beer, wine trips, and seafood. – Lauren L
