New Cajun spot Magnolia Lounge opens

Plano’s newest Cajun restaurant, The Magnolia Lounge, opened Saturday, July 10 at 200 Coit Road Suite 112.  It is in the spot formerly occupied by Café Brazil in the shopping center anchored by Central Market. A grand opening celebration is set for 6 pm that night. There will also be a grand opening brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. the following day featuring karaoke with DJ/VJ TKD.

Among those scheduled for the grand opening festivities are The Big Easy Brass Band, DJ Rik Rak, and DJ Big Daddy. According to a recent social media post, Dak Prescott, Zeke Elliot, and Luka Doncic are also invited for the occasion.

Owner and chef Cliff Thomas has been working around the clock for more than three months to get the restaurant ready.  He’s excited to open and ready to show off his authentic menu, including what he says will be the best po boys in town.

“We are authentic Cajun and Creole food,” he says. “All the chefs and everyone in the kitchen are from Louisiana and we have over 100 years of experience combined.”

Other items Thomas expects to be popular are the stuffed red snapper, alligator, authentic gumbo, and etouffee. There will also be a full bar to complement the casual, loungy atmosphere.

The Magnolia lounge will open from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays; 11 a.m. to midnight on Wednesdays and Thursdays; and from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday through Sunday.
