The Collaborative Arts of Plano (CAP) is hosting the North Texas Carnival of the Arts at The Shops of Willow Bend this weekend.

Tagged as the largest indoor arts festival for families in North Texas, the event will feature hands-on visual art activities, exhibits and performances with 36 artists/organizations. Highlights include a flash mob from the Garage Arts Project at 12:20 p.m., a stage combat class from Rover Dramawerks at 11 a.m. and a Disney Dazzle Sing-Along at 1 p.m.

The event will also host the inaugural North Texas’ Got Talent contest, where singers, dancers, actors, musicians or other talents will compete for $1,000 in cash prizes.

Though the event is free, CAP asks those who are interested to register in advance. The first 500 registrants will receive a special promo bag and be entered into a drawing for gift certificates from Willow Bend merchants and Plano Arts organizations.

The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on September 28 at The Shops at Willow Bend, located at 6121 West Park Blvd.
