Looking for a way to stay active? Plano Parks & Recreation is opening applications for adult leagues next week for the spring.

Is your New Year’s resolution this year to be more active? Just in time for the holidays, Plano Parks and Recreation is opening applications for their adult sports leagues.

Applicants can choose from slow-pitch softball, kickball or soccer, with games starting in late February.

Kickball has a $380 registration fee until Jan. 31. From then to Feb. 11, registration fees will be $405. Kickball starts on Feb. 26, with game nights on Wednesdays and Fridays for eight games plus playoffs.

Applicants can choose between softball with or without playoffs. For those not looking to get into playoffs, early registration is $370, late registration is $405 and the league kicks off on Feb. 26. Games will run Monday through Friday for eight games total. Those interested in playoffs can pay a $400 early registration fee or a $425 late registration fee for a Feb 26 start date and eight games plus playoffs.

For a shorter softball season, applicants can also choose 5v5v5 women’s softball, which is $200 for early registration, $225 for late registration and starts on Feb. 28. Three teams of five play at the same time on a rotating basis, and the team with the best record at the end of the season is deemed the winner and takes home championship t-shirts. Games are on Wednesdays and there are six games total.

The 7v7 co-ed soccer league features continuous games, plus playoffs, for $44 per month. Games are ongoing on Mondays and Thursdays.

Applications open Monday, Dec. 18. Plano Parks and Recreation is also looking for umpires and referees. Those interested can email msiyyadeh@plano.gov.
