New City of Plano payment portal means re-registration for many residents

The new portal, live now, will require those who use AutoPay to register a new account using their account number and re-enroll in AutoPay.

This week, the City of Plano unveiled a new payment portal for utility bills that requires those enrolled in AutoPay to re-register.

For those using the one-time-pay option, no registration is required. Those on AutoPay will need their 6-digit account number, which can be found on their water bill, to create a new account and re-enroll in AutoPay.

The change of software was approved by City Council in September. According to a memo following the approval, the new InvoiceCloud software will provide new payment channels and tender types, allowing users to pay with more “modern, frictionless” methods like Apple Pay, Google Pay, Venmo and PayPal.
