The troupe, consisting of performers ages 62 and older, will perform their first production in February 2026.

North Texas Performing Arts, a nonprofit in-house theater and children’s acting school, announced the launch of a dedicated theater troupe for adults aged 62 and older earlier this week.

“This program isn’t just about theatre—it’s about creating a community of fun-loving seniors who want to laugh, learn, and live life to the fullest,” NTPA CEO Darrell Rodenbaugh said. “We believe everyone should have the opportunity to take the stage, whether you’re 65 or 95, there’s a place for you in NTPA Silver Theatre, and the spotlight is waiting!”

The NTPA Silver Theatre, led by Zayde Vetter, is open for auditions now. Rehearsals will be twice per week during the day, according to a news release.

“There are two major passions in my life— theatre and working with kids and senior citizens,” Vetter said. “Silver Theatre combines my love for the stage with my belief in the joy, creativity, and community that seniors
can bring to a production.”

The troupe’s first performance, Guys and Dolls, will open February 13, 2026.
