With a record-breaking cast, NTPA’s Scrooge the Musical is returning to the Courtyard Theatre and Willow Bend Center of the Arts this year.
The musical theatre orchestra will help musicians and actors learn to perform alongside each other, Preston Page said.
The troupe, consisting of performers ages 62 and older, will perform their first production in February 2026.
Total prizes of $4,000 will be awarded to youth and adult winners, open to all talents 10 and up that reside in North Texas.
The cast list includes Summer Stock participants Elijah Hillman, Beau Mills, Caroline Pillow, Lola Cate Bradley, Jasper Allen, Riley Samuel and returning Lindsey Yoder.
The grants come after an annual report on the State of the arts underscored the critical value of arts education.
Memberships are tax-deductible and help support the community and repertory theatres, providing free tickets and discounts for members.
The cast will include many returning performers as well as Planoite Meryl Evans as Milky White with captioned & ASL-interpreted performances.
The event included discussions that focused on 2024 accomplishments & highlighted the need for dedicated arts spaces and improved marketing.
