North Texas Performing Arts Academy students and faculty recently received recognition at the Schmidt & Jones High School Theatre Awards and the Broadway Dallas High School Musical Theatre Awards for their production of Little Women.
“These awards represent far more than a single production,” said Riley Madlock, Head of School for NTPA Academy. “They reflect the commitment our students make every day to excellence, creativity, collaboration, and growth. Whether on stage, in the orchestra pit, backstage, or in the classroom, our students are developing the skills and character that prepare them for success in the arts and beyond.”
The Schmidt & Jones High School Theatre Awards included:
● Best Orchestra — NTPA Academy
● Best Lighting Design — Tyler Bialowas
● Best Actress in a Minor Role — Sophia Bock
As well as nominations for:
● Best Ensemble
● Best Actor — Gabriel Putnam
● Best Actress — Taylor Winton
● Best Supporting Actress — Milla Fort
● Best Supporting Actress — Meredith Holmes
● Best Actor in a Minor Role — Nate Jeffries
● Best Ensemble Member — Zelie Bernstein
Sophie Zeigon was also a nominee for the Broadway Dallas High School Musical Theatre Award for Outstanding Lead Performer.
“These awards affirm what we see every day,” Madlock said. “When students are challenged, supported, and empowered to pursue excellence, extraordinary things happen. We are proud of every student who contributed to this season and excited about what lies ahead.”
