Plano ISD reporting fewer COVID cases

The number of COVID-19 cases withing Plano ISD appears has been trending downward over the past two weeks. As of Sept. 13, there were a total of 223 students cases reported throughout the district. That’s more than 200 fewer than were reported the Friday before Labor Day weekend.  The number of staff cases now stands at 40.

Brinker Elementary School has the most current case with 21.  It is followed by 14 cases at Plano East Senior High, and 10 cases at both Plano West and Huffman Elementary.

There are also 19 current cases at the Charmaine Solomon Adult transition center.  No other Plano ISD campus has more than seven current cases.  Fifteen of the district’s 44 elementary school are now reporting no cases.

For the current school year, 1,039 students and 167 staff members have tested positive for COVID-19 and since been cleared.
