Plano ISD announced today that over a dozen students were awarded or honored at the recent 2024 Texas Thespians State Festival held at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Hotel in Grapevine.
- Plano East student Gina Phan performed in the All-State Closing Ceremonies Show
- Plano West Troupe 6101 student Nicole Lee won 1st place in the Lip Sync Competition
Fifteen students received a perfect score from all three judges in their respective individual events at the festival and were invited back for another round of auditions.

Plano East Senior High School students presented their production of Lord of the Flies at the festival, winning awards including; Brayden Boggs: Honorable Mention Performance, Chrissy Pelton: All Star Cast Performance, Lauren Oliobi: Best Supporting Performance, Best Makeup and Best Props.
Many students from each of the senior high schools qualified for the International Thespian Festival in June 2025.
