Plano Metro Rotary presents $75K grant to Hendrick Scholarship Foundation

The Hendrick Scholarship Foundation recently received a $75,000 grant from the Plano Metro Rotary Foundation.  This grant will help the foundation purchase a scholarship management software system intended to double the number of students served over the next three years.

Foundation representatives say that the new software will dramatically improve efficiencies across all levels.  It will also expand college access and provide a “full life cycle portal” for students, improving student tracking and increasing volunteer engagement.

“We are grateful to the PMRC for helping us significantly advance our work with these deserving young adults,” a foundation spokesperson said in a statement announcing the grant.

The Hendrick Scholarship Foundation provides scholarships and support services to Plano ISD graduates who have overcome significant adversity. Approximately 64 percent of Hendrick students are the first in their families to attend college.  Those students have been awarded more than 350 scholarships.

The Plano Metro Rotary Club has long been one of the foundation’s biggest supporters. Its members have volunteered as foundations coaches, served on its board, and performed a number of other supporting roles.
