Texas Community Clinic opens in Plano offering free healthcare for those without insurance.
The clinic, which opened earlier this month, offers routine check-ups, treatment for common illnesses, chronic disease management, preventative care, cardiology, pain management, sports medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation. According to the clinic’s website, other specialty services will be added as more physicians volunteer.
“At Texas Community Clinic, we are dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare to the Dallas community,” the website says. “Our mission is to ensure that everyone has access to the medical services they need, regardless of their ability to pay. Join us in our commitment to a healthier, happier community.”
Common medications, other than controlled substances, can be prescribed and EKG and common blood work are available.
The clinic is appointment only, and a valid ID is required. Patients are encouraged to bring any medical records or a medication list if possible. The clinic is open on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and appointments can be made online or by walking in on Sunday mornings.
The clinic is accepting physicians, physician’s assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and pharmacists to volunteer at the clinic. Non-licensed volunteers are also welcome, such as administrative tasks, patient intake, translation services, patient education, scribing for physicians and more. High school students, college students, volunteers and healthcare professionals can sign up to volunteer on the clinic’s website.
Tax deductible donations can be made through Zelle and further instructions are available on the clinic’s website.
