Boeing recently hosted an inaugural STEM Signing Day at its Global Services headquarters in Plano. Graduating high school seniors from Plano Independent School District (ISD) were recognized by Boeing for their commitment to pursue a STEM field of study.
During the event, which was attended by family members and Plano ISD representatives, students signed a commitment to continue their STEM education at their chosen university. Additionally, each student was paired with a mentor from the Boeing Global Services leadership team who will offer guidance and counsel during the student’s freshman year of college.
The students completed a form to indicate their interest in the program and then were chosen at random. Plano ISD looks forward to making this an annual event and will have more information in spring of 2020.
In the past year, Boeing has invested $5.8 million in charitable contributions in Texas, including grants to support hands-on STEM learning opportunities. Boeing is honored to support these talented students and is excited to see what the future holds.
